BFGoodrich entered the motor racing record books in style in 1915 when it became the first tyre manufacturer to win two years in a row at the 'Brickyard', home of the legendary Indy 500 race.
BFGoodrich was the first tyre firm to enter the Le Mans 24 Hours with road-legal radial tyres. John Greenwood's Corvette took part in the French endurance classic equipped with Lifesaver Radial T/A tyres in 1972, the year which saw the brand begin its modern day adventure in top flight motor sport.
In this same year, BFGoodrich won the Baja 1000,  the North American continent's most punishing off-road competition, to validate its new Radial All-Terrain T/A® tyre. Following this successful test, the tyre was launched on the market. The event also marked the beginning of a unique record in this discipline, with a total of 20* successive wins to date in the Baja 1000 and 18* wins in the Baja 500, etc.
(*) up to and including 2005

In 1977, Frank Vessels won Class 8 in the Baja 500 competing on BFGoodrich Radial T/A tyres. Since 1986, BFGoodrich has won America's most famous and oldest off-road competition – the Baja 1000 – every year.

Driving an Audi Quattro fitted with BFGoodrich tyres, John Buffum became the first American driver to win a major European rally: the 1984 Cyprus Rally, a leading fixture of the European Rally Championship and today a qualifying round of the WRC.

John Andretti, Derek Bell and Bob Wolleck secured a resounding win in one of America's most prestigious races, the Daytona 24 Hours, sharing a Porsche 962 running on BFGoodrich tyres in 1989.

In 1994, in the state of Colorado, Rod Millen took victory in the world's most famous hill-climb event, Pikes Peak, a sort of halfway house between off-road competition and traditional rallying. The New Zealander completed the 20km course which took him from an altitude of 2,865 to 4,300 metres in just 10m 4.54s – a new record! – driving a Toyota Celica… on BFGoodrich tyres of course.

BFGoodrich tyres have taken six wins on four wheels in the Dakar Rally since their debut in the celebrated North African rally-raid in 1999.
They have collected eight FIA Cross-Country World Cups – including 2005
