Organised for the first time by SRW Events in 2006, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge is open to Super 2000, Group N and Group A cars.

 

Based on just four rounds in 2006, the IRC expanded its calendar last year to include nine events which include such celebrated classics as the Safari Rally in Kenya and Italy's Sanremo Rally.The Intercontinental Rally Challenge will propose 10 rounds in 2008.

 

BFGoodrich, which has won the World Rally Championship in 2006 and 2007, has made a grand slam with 9 victories in 9 rounds. Peugeot with BFGoodrich Tyres was Manufacturers’ Champions and The Drivers' title was for Enrique Ojeda (Peugeot-BFGoodrich).
